Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the design team to create innovative and commercially viable product collections
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify current and emerging fashion trends
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of products
- Analyze sales data and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product improvements
- Manage the product development process from concept to production, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timelines
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective product promotion and branding strategies
- Monitor competitor activity and recommend strategies to stay ahead in the market
- Conduct regular store visits to assess product performance and make recommendations for assortment adjustments
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and attend trade shows and fashion events
- Train and mentor junior merchandisers, providing guidance and support in their professional development
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Design, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Fashion Merchandiser in the textiles industry
- Strong knowledge of fashion trends and an eye for aesthetics
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and industry software such as Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Ability to travel for trade shows and store visits as required
- Knowledge of production processes and quality control standards
